Why I create remoteoffice.fm?

In Part 1, of this article, I concluded 10 insights I’ve got while interviewing Global Coworking Leaders. Flashback, I create RemoteOffice.fm as my last bet on coworking idea of my side project. A result from boredom circumstances while doing full-time freelance design job, I’ve been thinking to go back to full-time job but somehow it’s not exactly the life that I want to spend for the rest of my life.

11. Focused on the community at the first time you launch your coworking space

The difference between workspace that is coworking and not coworking is about the value for the members. Whether helping them, supporting their business while they had problems, interaction with the members, create a link or connection surround them or create an event to solve the member’s problem.

12. Hospitality as a factor on helping coworking space expanding

The way to design a space basically depends on what type of professionalism are and the location the members in. And how to design a space to fit the member needs, let say their specific amenities.

13. Retreat coworking is not just bring value to the member outside of coworking space but also in local community

Let say, for specific coworking space that mixed with their sports activity due to their location, is not just helping local member community to be better at their own business — such as create an event or workshop— but also to become internationally playground and retreat workation to provide a work environment for those location-independent communities.

14. Retreat coworking is also a place where you can learn, share and collaborate your experience with the like-minded community.

Due to connecting and exchange the experience, the member of coworking space combined with surfing activity might become a future business partner. Since the way they debating, they feel connect each other and end up developing trust which could lead to doing business together.

15. Coworking with startup community

The main benefit of Coworking who’s targeting early-stage startup as their member has instant accountability and instant feedback which the main factor for members to keep coming back to space. Even more, if space usually has an event that helps the startup in their journey. Let say, financing, marketing, contracting and retailers.

16. Coworking is a new way of thinking economy

Coworking is a solution for small businesses to get an inexpensive office and also come with the community of member who collaborates each other. Getting new connection and sharing ideas to get the solution to the member problem.

17. Coworking with niche community

Coworking concept could work for a specific niche, let say medical. It will help a professional medical community to scale their services. In addition to the benefit, medical coworking spaces member will have an access to medical amenities in certain of time without additional money for furnishing and the equipment. It’s very flexible, low-risk and can add incrementally as their practice grows.

18. Coworking software help coworking operator to increase their revenue, have more efficiency while managing shared workspace and growing sense of community

Coworking operators can easily manage their shared workspace from Wi-Fi connections, allowing phone calls feature, day-to-day operation of the spaces, booking conference room, managing leads, billings, add a member portal on daily basis. Furthermore, could integrate with the third party for example door access.

With all process become automate and integrate, managing lifecycle of a customer from lead phase till fully being customer come easier. So, coworking operators don’t need to have staff on site that manually running the space except maybe for touring.

19. Coworking Franchise for Female entrepreneur

For some people who might don’t have an expertise while creating coworking spaces, there’s a few solution which is coworking franchise. You don’t need to figure it out branding stuff, furnishing work even marketing programs.

In addition to that, licensing model come with support from HQ to helping female entrepreneurs doing their business; from investment support and connecting founder with investor— Hera Venture and Hera Angels, or to plan, launch and scale their business — Hera Labs.

20. Coworking support social innovation in design community

Social innovations emerge when people with different professional backgrounds; some product design, some architecture, some graphic design, innovations, science all coming up under one roof talk in a welcoming and energizing environment. In ADO especially, shared workspace built as an ecosystem for the design community to do open public discussion whether is about the future and innovation or an issue that they’re passionate about and coming up with a solution to get rid of it.
